Three Dreadnaughts Crowned Conference Champions at SEC RED Championships

The Southeastern Conference RED Division Track & Field Championships were held on Saturday at Temperance Bedford High School. Ann Arbor Huron Boys won the Conference meet while Dexter Boys finished in 5th, and Ann Arbor Pioneer Girls were the Champions followed by the Dexter Girls finishing in 4th.
In the Field Events for the Lady Dreads, Kera Root was this year’s Conference Champion in the Discus with the top throw of 111’ 5” and Jizzelle Spence placed 6th at 89’ 11”. Root also took 3rd place in the Shot Put, throwing 32’ 2.75”.6”

The Pole Vault saw several Dexter Girls scoring points, leading off was this year’s Conference Champion Raiden Kipfmiller, winning the meet with a vault of 11’ 6” . She was followed by Madelyn Simons in 3rd with her mark of 8’ 6”, Tylee Jensen in 4th, and Allie McKaig in 5th, both at 8’ 6” as well, only separated by missed attempts. High Jumper Ainsley Davis placed 8th, clearing 4’ 8”.
Hurdler Giuliana Biundo was a double event placer, taking 7th place in the Girls 300m Hurdles, running 53.59, and taking 6th in the 100 Hurdles with a time of 17.71. Olivia Jones was the other Dreadnaught scoring in the event, running 17.88.
Dexters’ Kodie Snyder took a 5th place finish in the 3200m with her time of 11:46.73, and Lillian Mitchell was 4th in the 800m, running a 2:22.14.
The Girls had a lot of success in the relays, starting with a 5th place finish in the 4x100m with Halie Perkins, Maddy Church, Vivian Schoen, and Molly Salisbury running 53.00. Church and Salisbury also ran on the 4x200m relay team along with Debbie McCoy, and Raiden Kipfmiller, finishing 3rd with 1:49.51.
Lillian Mitchell, Claire Gibson, Amelia Cribbins, and Claire Steinbrecher were the 4x400m relay team that fought hard to catch several teams in dramatic fashion, finishing in 3rd with their time of 4:15.33. Steinbrecher, Cribbins, Vivian Hoffman, and Mitchell ran the 4x800 that took 5th at 9:54.20.
The Boys Field Events started off with Robert Karageorge as this year’s Conference Champion in the Discus, with the top throw of the competition at 143’ 3”, followed by teammate Jacob Alvarado in 6th with his best throw of the day at 129’ 5”. Shot Putter Cameron Clark was Conference Runner-up, throwing 47’ 4” while Karageorge was 6th at 43’ 7.5”.
Kyle Gerharter was Runner-up in the High Jump, clearing 5’ 10”, and Will Weiszhaar was 8th, going 5’ 4”. The Pole Vault had 2 Dexter placers, starting with Anthony Delarca-Hernandez at 3rd with his best vault of 11’ 6”, and Alex Trisdale was 6th at 10’ 0”.

In the 3200, Coen Hill was the Conference Runner-up with his time of 9:38.24. The Dreadnaughts placed 2 relays with John Michael Jerome, Connor Kril, Dylan Darby, and Josh Graybill taking 4th in the 4x100m at 45.44, and in the 4x200m it was Noah DePestel, Kril, Darby, and Graybill also 4th again at 1:32.73.
Next up for Dexter are the Division 1 regional 4 championships at Mason High School.
