McCoy Qualifies For State Championship, Girls 9th, Boys 22nd At Farmington Invitational

Dexter competed in the Farmington Invitational at Farmington High School on Saturday. The highly competitive meet saw some of the best teams and individuals from southeastern Michigan and throughout the state. Dexter girls finished the meet in 9th place out of the field of 51, while the boys finished in 22nd.

Leading the performances was Debbie McCoy winning the Girls Pole Vault, and qualifying for the State Championships with a career best of 11’ 6”, followed by Raiden Kipfmiller in 2nd going 11’ 3”. Madelyn Simons was 9th at 9’ 3”, her best jump this season.

Thrower Kera Root made the finals and finished the day in 9th with a throw of 105’ 7” in the Discus.
High Jumper Kyle Gerharter took 6th place in the High Jump, clearing the bar at 5’ 9”, and Anthony Delarca-Hernandez placed 8th in the Pole Vault for the Boys jumping 11’ 9”, his personal best.
On the track for the Dreadnaughts, the Girls 4x800 meter relay team of Claire Steinbrecher, Vivian Hoffman, Lillian Mitchell, and Kodie Snyder took 3rd place running their fastest team time of the season with a time of 9:49.27.
Distance runner Coen Hill finished in 6th place in the 3200m run with his fastest career time of 9:33.78.
Next up for Dexter is the Southeastern Conference Red Division Championships on Thursday.
