Girls Double Winners, Boys Split at AA Skyline

Dexter Track & Field traveled across town to Ann Arbor Skyline on Tuesday to compete in SEC Red action with Skyline and Temperance Bedford in a three way meet. Separate team scores were kept for each school, and for the Boys they beat Skyline 73.5 to 63.5, but fell short against Bedford 92 to 45. The Girls however beat Skyline in a nail biter 70 to 66, and dominated Bedford 94 to 43.
In arguably one of the coldest meets of the year, Mitchell Ward was 2nd in the 200m running 23.98, with Connor Kril right behind for 3rd at 24.30. Ward was also 3rd in the 100m with his time of 11.83. 3200 meter runner Coen Hill had the fastest time of the day, winning with a time of 10:07.56, and Caleb Snyder was 2nd in the 1600m with his time of 4:40.04.
Dexter placed two relays, the 4x100m was 2nd, with Mitchell Ward, Connor Kril, Noah Boyce, and Josh Graybill finishing with 45.87, and the 4x200 was also 2nd with Noah DePestel, Graybill, Dylan Darby, and Kril at 1:35.74.

Out in the throwing events, Dexter boys went 2-3 in the Shot Put with Cameron Clark, and Robert Karageorge throwing 44’ 6” and 41’ 11.5” respectively. Karageorge was also the best Discus thrower for the day, tossing a 119’ 9” and Jacob Alvarado finishing in 3rd with a 109’ 8” effort. And in the High Jump, Kyle Gerharter won the meet with a jump of 5’ 10”, while Amarkus Royce was 3rd at 5’ 8”.
The Lady Dreads had a dominating day in the field events. Starting with the Pole Vault, Dexter went 1-2-3 with Raiden Kipfmiller at 11’ 0”, Debbie McCoy at 10’ 6” and Tylee Jensen at 8’ 6” taking the top spots. Then in the Discus, another 1-2-3 performance with Kera Root’s throw of 97’ 9”, Jizzelle Spence with 74’ 2” and Emily Weiszhaar at 73’ 2” taking all the points there. Root was also 2nd in the Shot Put with a throw of 29’ 2”. The High Jump had a great showing with Olivia Jones winning at 4’ 8”, and Aubrey Greuling 3rd at 4’ 2”.
Circling back to the track events, Raiden Kipfmiller was back in action taking a 2nd place finish in the 200m, at 27.69 and was part of 2 different relays that placed. Starting with the 4x100m, the team of Kipfmiller, Debbie McCoy, Maddy Church, and Vivian Schoen won running a 53.49, while the 4x200 with Kipfmiller, Claire Steinbrecher, Church, and Schoen were 2nd with their time of 1:54.44. Dexter placed one more relay, the 4x800 with a 2nd place finish of 10:12.05 with the team of Steinbrecher, Amelia Cribbins, Annabel O’Haver, and Lillian Mitchell.
Mitchell was the winner of the 1600m running a 5:32.77, and took a 3rd place spot in the 400m with a time of 1:05.13. Claire Steinbrecher, in addition to the two relays, was 2nd in the 800m, finishing the race with 2:35.91. 3200m runner Avery Hoeft took third, running 12:38.55. Finally Dexter hurdlers Olivia Jones, and Giuliana Biundo went 2-3 in the 100 hurdles, with times of 17.91, and 18.23. 300m hurdler Sarah Murillo was 3rd, running 59.70.
Dexter travels to Ypsilanti Lincoln next week to compete with AA Huron and Monroe.
