Dexter Battles Saline and Lincoln

The Boys and Girls Track and Field teams traveled to Ypsilanti Lincoln on Tuesday to compete against SEC Rivals Saline and Lincoln. While the Dreadnaughts finally got some good weather to compete in, the competition was pretty tough. The boys fell to Saline 104 to 33, and ended up in a tie with Lincoln 68.5 to 65.5. The girls had better success, beating Lincoln 79 to 58, but also coming up short to Saline 85 to 52.
A few of the top performances by the boys team was Coen Hill taking both 2nd place finishes in the 1600m and the 3200m, running 4:33.95 in the 1600, and 9:55.79 in the 3200. Julian Linebaugh was 3rd in the 3200m with his time of 10:31.21.

The field events has Throwers Robert Karageorge and Cameron Clark scoring for the Dreads. Karageorge won the Shot Put at 46’ 6.5” and 2nd in the Discus at 140’ 4”, while Clark was 3rd in each event with 45’ 10” Shot Put marks and a 123’ 6” in the Discus.
In the jumps, Kyle Gerharter took 3rd in the High Jump clearing the bar with a 5’ 10” mark, and Pole Vaulters Anthony Delarca-Hernandes taking first at 11’ 6”, and Alex Tisdale finishing in 2nd with 11’ 0”.
Out on the track for the girls, the Lady Dreads started off with a 3rd place finish from Raiden Kipfmiller in the 200m dash, running 27.68, and Claire Steinbrecher taking a 3rd place in the 400m going 1:02.40. Steinbrecher was also 3rd in the 800m, with a finish of 2:35.74. Hurdlers Olivia Jones and Giuliana Biundo scored in the 100 Hurdles. Jones' time of 17.90 was the fastest among the runners, and Biundo was 3rd at 18.69.
In the distance races, Lillian Mitchell had the fastest 1600m time of the day, winning the event with a time of 5:16.95. Two 3200m runners finished in the top 3 with Annabel O’Haver taking 2nd at 12:17.97, and Avery Hoeft right behind for 3rd at 12:42.98.
The 4x100m Relay team featuring Molly Salisbury, Halle, Perkins, Debbie McCoy, and Maddy Church were 2nd, with their time of 53.08, and the 4x400m Relay team of Claire Gibson, Claire Steinbrecher, Vivian Hoffman, and Amelia Cribbins won the last race of the day with a finish of 4:14.78.
In the Discus, Kera Root had the farthest throw of the field, winning the event with her throw of 106’ 1”, and Jizzelle Spence was the 3rd place finisher throwing 90’ 3”.
It was a clean sweep in the girls pole vault. Debbie McCoy was the winner with a vault of 11’ 0”, followed by Raiden Kipfmiller in 2nd with 11’0” as well. Allie McKaig took 3rd clearing the bar at 8’ 6”.
The team will host their annual April Showers Invitational this Saturday at Al Ritt Stadium.
