Boys And Girls Track & Field Split With Huron And Monroe

Dexter hosted both Ann Arbor Huron and Monroe Tuesday in SEC RED Track & Field Action. Rain and storms held off to produce warm but windy temperatures at the start of the competition, but transitioned into much colder temperatures as the meet went on. The boys team beat Monroe 97 to 40, but fell to Huron 71 to 66. It was the same for the girls with Dexter beating Monroe 106 to 31, and coming up short to Huron 76 to 61.

Leading off for the Girls on the track, Dexter had top performances starting with Debbie McCoy taking 2nd in the 100m at 13.55, and Raiden Kipfmiller finishing in 3rd in the 200m with 27.99. Claire Steinbrecher was also a 3rd place finisher in the 400m with 1:01.64. Amelia Cribbins was 3rd in the 800m running a time of 2:31.47.
Avery Hoeft was the 3rd place finisher in the girls 1600m running 5;54.15, and Annabel O’Haver was the winner in the 3200m beating everyone with a time of 12:19.60.
Hurdlers Olivia Jones, and Giuliana Biundo each took a 3rd place finish. Jones in the 100m Hurdles with a time of 17.36, while Biundo ran the 300m Hurdles and was timed at 54.80.
Dexter relay teams took two 2nd place finishes; in the 4x100 and in the 4x200m. Halle Perkins, Maddy Church, Vivian Schoen, and Molly Salisbury ran 53.57 in the 4x100m, and Olivia Jones, Church, Schoen, Raiden Kipfmiller ran 1:52.86 in the 4x200m.
Two more relays took 1st places; the 4x400m and the 4x800m. Amelia Cribbins, Claire Gibbons, Vivian Hoffman, and Claire Steinbrecher ran 4:21.91 in the 4x400, and Steinbrecher, Kodie Snyder, Hoffman, and Lillian Mitchell ran 10:02.00 in the 4x800m.
Kera Root won both the Discus, throwing 101’ 7” and Shot Put, throwing 30’ 4”, while Jizzelle Spence was 2nd in the Shot Put at 27’ 8”.
Olivia Jones was 2nd in the High Jump, clearing 4’ 6”, and Dexter placed 3 in the Pole Vault. Raiden Kipfmiller was 1st at 11’ 0”, followed by Debbie McCoy also at 11’ 0” and 3rd was Madelyn Simons at 9’ 0”.
Out in the field events for the Boys, Cameron Clark was 2nd in the Shot Put with a throw of 48’ 5.25”, and Robert Karageorge was 3rd with a 44’ 5” effort. Karageorge was also 3rd in the Discus with a throw of 131’ 11”.
Dexter High Jumpers went 1-2 with Kyle Gerharter winning at 6’ 0”, and Will Weiszhaar runner up at 5’ 6”. Pole Vault was also a 1-2 Dexter finish, Anthony Delarca-Hernandez at 11’ 6”, and Alex Trisdale at 10’ 0”.
Second and Third place in the 800m went to Dexter’s Nick Reiser at 2:06.98, and Julian Linebaugh 2:07.90. Another 2-3 finish happened in the 1600m with Caleb Snyder taking 2nd at 4:29.27, and Coen Hill 3rd at 4:31.50. Hill was the best 3200m runner on the day, finishing in 10:03.32, followed by teammate Nick Martins for 2nd at 10:21.79.
200m runner Josh Graybill was 3rd with his time of 23.64, and High Hurdler Collin Roller finished 3rd with 18.66.
Dexter had two winning relays, the 4x100m with John Michael Jerome, Connor Kril, Dylan Darby, and Josh Graybill winning with 45.03, and the 4x800m of Scott Smith, Nick Reiser, Triston Thompson, and Landon Whitehead running a 9:01.54.
Dexter’s 4x200m and 4x400m each earned a 2nd place spot. The 4x200m team of Noah DePestal, Connor Kril, Dylan Darby, and Josh Graybill at 1:33.95, and the 4x400m team of Julian Linebaugh, Jason Biggs, Brock Wineman, and Liam Smith at 3:40.58.
Next up, the Dreadnaughts travel Saturday to Farmington for the Farmington Invitational.
