Barnburner At Barnyard Invitational & Elite Mile Showcase

Dexter traveled to Romeo High School on Friday to compete in the Barnyard Invitational and Elite Mile Showcase. While there was no team score kept, the field of 59 schools, it featured some of the top middle and distance runners in the area. 


In The Early Session 3200 Meter race for the boys, as the lone Dexter representative, Coen Hill ran a personal best on his way to placing 8th with a time of 10:35.49. The Early Session Invitational 1600 meter run, Caleb Snyder finished in the top 10 with a 10th place with 4:34.35. Also finishing with personal bests in the race were Julian Linebaugh, going 4:39.50, and Jack McCalla at 4:50.69.


The Elite Session Invitational 1600 Meter, Brandon Anderson ran his fastest race ever by over 7 seconds. While finishing 2nd in his heat, his time of 4:20.26 placed him 16th overall for the race. Finally, The Early Session 800 Meter run, Elijah Smiths’ time of 2:07.32, and Cole Dotys’ 2:07.43 were also personal best for each.


Moving on to the  Girls side, in The Early Session Invitational 800 meter run, Lillian Mitchell was 2nd overall, finishing her race with a time of 2:25.44. Teammates Addison Bruckman was 8th running 2:31.41, and Amelia Cribbins was 9th at 2:33.72, her fastest time to date. In The Elite Session 1600 Meter run, Hannah Sisson ran a personal best of 5:51.39, and in The Elite Invitational 1600 Meter run, Kate Variteks’ time of 5:25.58, and Kodie Snyders’ time of 5:29.51 were also their career fastest times.


Next up, Dexter will send a full team to Ann Arbor to go up against both Ann Arbor Huron, and Monroe High School this Tuesday.
